BERGAL, Rhoda R., 89, died March 22, 2010, at Legacy House in Post Falls. Born July 21, 1920, in Duluth, Minn. Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at Forest Cemetery, Coeur d'Alene.

English Funeral Chapel, Coeur d'Alene, is in care of arrangements.

Rhoda Rae Bergal, 89, passed away peacefully March 22, 2010, at The Legacy House in Post Falls. She was born July 21, 1920, in Duluth, Minn., to Abraham and Sarah Friedman. Rhoda married Bernie Bergal on Sept. 2, 1939, in Duluth. They were married for 70 amazing years. They had three daughters, Laurie, Carol and Bobbie Bergal.

They moved to Southern California in about 1950, later moving to San Jose, Calif. Rhoda worked for Lockheed Missiles and retired from Lockheed and moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1977 to be by family. Rhoda and Bernie moved back to California for a few years than back to Coeur d’Alene living out their golden years.

Rhoda is survived by her husband, Bernie Bergal and daughter Lorrie and husband Robert Hultz of Hayden; daughter Carol and husband Dick Southern of Tuolumne, Calif.; daughter Bobbie and husband Art Nelmar of Dalton Gardens.

Rhoda and Bernie have six grandchildren, Lorrie and husband Doug Wurzauf, Pennie and husband Duane Collinson, Earl and wife Christine Bode, Lisa and husband Brian Neal, John Nelmar and fiancee Mandy Johnson, Tanya and husband Darrell Kisler.

They also have 14 great-grandchildren and were blessed to have eight great-great-grandchildren and their special dog, Colby.

Rhoda was preceded in death by her parents, Abraham and Sarah Friedman; brother Melvin; sisters Beatrice, Elaine and Leslie; and great-granddaughter Amanda Laurina Worthing.

Her funeral was March 24, 2010, at Forest Cemetery in Coeur d’Alene. Our family would like to thank Hospice of North Idaho and the staff at Legacy House Assisted Living. We would like to give special thanks to Penny and Marilyn for all their love and support for Rhoda and taking such good care of Bernie and special thanks to John and Laura Popp for the Graveside service and being there for all of us.

Until we see you again mom and grandma, we love you.
